🔥 Apply for the Federal Secure Cloud Advisory Committee (FSCAC) – A Federal Register notice was released about a week and a half ago, outlining the application process. – The deadline to submit applications is Friday, June 12th, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. – Applications will be reviewed by a team, with final decisions made by the GSA Administrator in consultation with the OMB Director. – The FedRAMP Director and Federal CIO have been delegated authority for this decision-making process.

🍳 Understand the Available Openings – Over the course of 2026, there will be a total of five openings on the committee. – Currently, three positions are open: – Two Federal CISO positions. – One large cloud service provider representative position. – Two additional positions will open soon: – One large cloud service representative position. – One small cloud service representative position.

💡 Targeted Outreach to Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) – CSPs currently undergoing FedRAMP authorization are strongly encouraged to apply. – Significant changes have been made to the FedRAMP program in the last year, including a new authorization path/type. – Input is sought from the "20X community" and vendors who may still face challenges with FedRAMP authorization.

✅ Clarify the FSCAC's Role and Commitment – The FSCAC is an advisory committee, not a board or oversight body, providing advice on FedRAMP. – The committee meets five times a year. – Members are expected to be emotionally committed and care about the FedRAMP program. – The focus is on providing advice across the federal ecosystem and into the private sector, encouraging industry collaboration. – The FSCAC does not influence FedRAMP policy directly; that is handled by federal policy and the FedRAMP Board. – Membership does not grant special access or advantages within FedRAMP. Interactions are public, and there are no special privileges.

🚀 Leverage the Opportunity to Influence – While not directly influencing FedRAMP policy, membership offers a unique avenue to influence others through shared opinions and agreement. – The FSCAC aims to facilitate consensus among diverse stakeholders, which is valuable for program improvement.

🗓️ Attend the June 8th Meeting for Insight – Applications remain open after the June 8th meeting to allow potential applicants to attend and understand the committee's work before committing. – This meeting provides an opportunity to learn more about what joining the FSCAC entails.

⭐ Key Takeaways for Applicants: – Action: Review the Federal Register notice for application details and requirements. – Action: Submit your application by the June 12th deadline. – Consider: Highlight your experience with FedRAMP or cloud security challenges in your application. – Understand: The FSCAC is an advisory body focused on collaborative input, not direct policy-making. – Commit: Be prepared for a moderate time commitment (five meetings a year) and a genuine desire to contribute to FedRAMP's evolution.

We also need to plug openings. >> Yes. >> Uh openings. >> How does this work? You got to like Do I just get to a point whoever I want to apply? >> there's an application. >> There's an application process. Um about a week ago, week and a half ago, uh we dropped a Federal Register notice. And if you have been paying attention to our FedRamp blog, which was released last week, >> um it outlines the the links needed for you to apply. >> Over the course of 2026, we're going to have five openings. Three of those openings are open right now. We have two federal CISO positions that are open. We have one large cloud service provider representative position open. And then we have an upcoming large cloud service representative position as well as a small cloud service representative position open. Um I really want to reach out to the CSPs out there who are going through FedRamp. We have made a lot of changes to the program in the last year. There's a completely new authorization path or authorization type. What's the What I'm using >> Certification >> Certification type. >> Uh that's opening up. And you know, it'd be great to get some voices from the 20X community or vendors who haven't gone through a FedRamp authorization and they're still challenged um to join the FISCAC and provide your input. So, um you have until >> Uh >> June 5:00 p.m. >> 12th on Friday. 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. >> Uh to get your application in. And the way that will work is we'll have a team that goes through those applications. And ultimately, the GSA administrator in consultation with the OMB director will make that decision. We also have delegated authority, so it's It makes it a lot easier here. >> The FedRAMP director and the federal CIO have both been delegated that authority, so we'll be coordinating on that together. And if you don't know, the federal CIO is also the FedRAMP director's boss. So, over here at GSA, that's an interesting thing. So, if you're if you're a little tepid and don't know what you're getting into, uh you can also come to the meeting on June 8th because the applica- we purposely let o- co- continue the applications to be open after that first meeting, so you can kind of know what you're getting into if you want to sign up for this. And it's not a huge commitment. We have five meetings a year. However, we do want you emotionally committed. >> That's right. >> Right. We want you to care about FedRAMP. I think >> a couple things on the outside of this, right? First of all, this is not the board. This is not a board. FedRAMP board is a totally different thing. This is not an oversight body. This is a advisory committee that provides advice, and I think it's really important to understand uh that we want people that are committed to working with each other and with others to provide advice across the federal ecosystem and into private sector. And a lot of that advice we really want to be focused out at industry working together. Um so, if you're coming into this, you're thinking, "Oh, I got to tell FedRAMP what to do." Not how this works. We have federal policy and a FedRAMP board for that, totally separate thing. So, also it doesn't get you an in or anything with FedRAMP. I >> Yeah, we can only interact with the FISCAC in public. >> Yeah. >> Like we can't There's no special >> stuff. >> Like you don't get swag. We're not allowed to do anything. Like you literally are just a member of the public on a committee that advises In fact, we don't even get to really interact with you unless there's like very unique circumstances, and it's like weird. >> Boss. >> Well, you do get to influence the direction of the program, so that's one of the big benefits. >> In a way. >> You get to know more than anyone else. I I do want to be really important. The FISCAC does not influence FedRAMP any more than the public or anything else. But what the FISC Act does is it it creates a avenue to influence other people through a shared agreement of opinions. And that is something that as we talked about is hard to get, is hard to find a bunch of people agreeing on the same thing. If we can get that, that's helpful. Yep.
